This is my documentary piece Aspirations and Goals. A short moving image piece and zine following the story of Chelsea Tolhurst an aspiring professional dressage rider. This project was about documenting Chelsea’s daily life and the struggles she faces in becoming successful in the world of dressage. I wanted the piece to display the reality of what it takes to get to the top of a profession. This project is about applauding and giving credit to the people following a different career path, having to work their way up from the ground to achieve their dream job. On reflection Aspirations and Goals is a project I would like to continue to work on. It would be interesting to see where the subject ends up a few years down the line.
