My photography has always been influenced by the relationship between the natural and the manmade. In my work, I try to highlight the ripples of human interference through conceptual landscape photography of both urban and natural environments.

The Unearthing follows on these themes as it explores our forgotten interference within natural landscapes through the objects that are unearthed. Each manmade object reveals small glimpses into the history of the landscape, showing us how we once interacted with the landscape and how it has changed since. Using a metal detector, I spend hours sometimes days in each landscape discovering its history and the traces of humans from the past several hundred years.
