Xena
Mounteney
Xena Mounteney is a fashion photographer from Kent, who is currently a year 2 student at The University of Creative Arts, Rochester, studying fashion photography. Xena’s creativity started to form from a young age and since then her passion and love for photography grew. Dance has been a big part of Xena’s life since she was young, and she likes to express this in her work. She uses dance and creative body movement to express the stories, messages and emotions she wants to be heard through her photography. In this series, Xena wanted to explore the Australian bushfires because these devastating fires have affected the Australian environment, wildlife and people, as well as shocked the whole world. She decided to recreate the story by using dance to show how damaging the fires were to the environment and the wildlife that lives there, as well as show the emotion it brings to the people. She decided to display this piece of work in a handmade book.
