Kirstie

Maccubbin

Kirstie Mccubbin is an Essex based photographer who experiments with different film and analogue cameras. Kirstie aims to use photography as a way to capture life around her. She enjoys finding candid moments and the details that people overlook. Being inspired by photographers such as Petra Collins,

Larry sultan and Corrine Day, Kirstie portrays themes of intimacy, purity, rawness and confusion throughout her work. This is reflected in ‘Bedclothes of purity’ by the absence of an identity and the reoccurring theme of a bedroom location. In this storytelling unit she has started to look at poetry and how photography can be used as a medium to convey emotion and absence.
