I am a photographer based in London/Kent, specialising in fashion photography. I also have a passion for make-up and am currently working as a trained make-up artist alongside my degree. As a result of this, the majority of my work is inspired by beauty shoots to add emphasis on the make-up and to showcase my talent. I also enjoy working with fantasy pieces, inviting the viewers into another world and to explore my abilities to create narrative.

 

For this unit of Storytelling I decided to narrow down the broad range of cosmetics to specifically lipstick, focussing on the colour red, as it is the most renowned colour, to personify this lipstick and to tell its story through the centuries it has been famous for. I pinpointed five moments in history, based on iconic people or eras whereby the red lipstick was possessed, and to produce shoots influenced by these moments in terms of styling and lighting to create images that best represent said moments in time. To connect these images together I decided to make my final piece into a zine to clearly show the transition between each shoot as a timeline of the development of the red lipstick.
